During the late march 2008, I’ve started a new collection of pictures of wet asphalt in Paris.
I was interessed by sudden showers of March and it following shiny sun .So, I firstly called this serie "season in the city". My first idea was to compose abstract landscape made of reflection of the light mixed with the material of Asphalt, here and beyond , an horizon. After reading a book on Bonnard who noted in his notebook the weather of the day . This way of was my idea to nothing it by image.

For the event "Parallaxis : Music and Moving Pictures" taking place on April 17, 2009 in Portland, I was curated by helsinqi to make a movie on Matthew burtner music " In a White Light " (1997/2000) :
"for violin, piano, and Arctic wind explores the region between music and environment. In this piece the inner spirit of sound is discovered through the interrelation of ecological and musical elements. The codependence of instrumental, human, and environment in the piece forms a “musical ecology”, the music being formed inside of a larger environmental compositional context. Environmental body, instrumental body, and the performer’s bodies create a hierarchical musical ecosystem from which the music arises and into which it decays. Clearly visible objects recede into a white light leaving only traces of their passing.
Each performer vocalizes carefully notated sounds which are intended to add noise to the instrumental sound, thereby forming a link between the body of the instrument and that of the performer. Arctic wind sounds recorded in the far North of Alaska and mixed onto CD are played into the concert space. The wind acts as an ecoacoustic musical context defining the psychological boundaries of the piece. The wind also forms a larger link between the concert environment, and the performers themselves through the timbral unity of noise as the result of changing air pressures against a body (wind in the trees and breath from the mouth)." (Extracted from Matthew Burtner website)
I was working on two different ways , but after different technicals problem I go deeply in the use of this serie of pictures to make this movie. Animate material of the asphalt which surrounding the shadow of their inhabitants and reveal the nature , weather and changement of light, in the city of Paris .
With the movie and ideas about it in head and hand , I continue new series of picture.
